Hi, Nisa. I live near Alcoy, between Valencia and Alicante, an hour far from each.

I think Valencia is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve seen in Spain, along with Santiago de Compostela, San Sebastián, Granada and Barcelona.

I highly recommend you to walk at least some parts of the “Camino de Santiago”, especially near San Sebastián. There you follow wonderful mountain tracks/paths beside the sea. The “Camino del norte (north route)” begins at Irún, and it’s awesome.

The best beaches I know near here are mainly located at Cabo de la Nao: La Granadella and L’Ambolo. We also usually go to Bol nou, in La Vila Joiosa, another magnifique beach.

I was diving in Formentera, and I consider it a really thrilling thing to do, especially because of all that “posidonia meadows” next to the coast.

They say there are beautiful almost virgin beaches in Cabo de Gata (near Málaga). I still haven’t been there.

I still haven’t seen Sevilla, Córdoba and Cádiz, and I have great expectations about them.

I agree totally with you and your post! In addition I would say: the town-beach in Malaga is not that nice, if somebody´s looking for a more natural spot with less people, costa de la luz (westcoast), especially the area around Novo Santi Petri is nice to relax on the beach.
Interesting towns beside Malaga and Granada are Sevilla and Ronda around this area.
