Thanks for the post. We are planning the same road trip from Muscat to Salalah. Did you stay overnight at any of the villages that come in between (Al Ashkharah. etc). We are travelling with 3 kids, wondering that the 10 hour ride would be too long and worth taking a stopover, as long as it’s safe worth the stop. BTW great camera work – surely Pro work :-)

it’s best to just drive along the road to Mughsail, along the little side streets and you’ll reach the beaches that are all pretty unknown. Unfortunately I don’t know the names of them…

Hi there. Can you please provide more details of what you would have done in Salalah? The names of the beaches maybe (like the one in your picture).

I am planning to spend about 3-4 days there in July and I would absolutely appreciate you sharing your 2 cents.

Glad I came across your site. I am planning the same trip but from Salalah to Muscat in October going the coastal route. Also enjoyed your other pages re. Andaman, Raja Ampat and India. Places I have explored and need to go back and do again. Happy travels and many dusty roads for you.
