Yeah, August is the typical vacation time and therefore, tourists are everywhere. This is the case pretty much anywhere, but China is always another level simply because there are so many!
We’d love to see the Great Wall again, but as said not at one of it’s most visited places…If you know a good place, let us know :)

I never went to Badaling, only Mutianyu, which also gets really busy mid-morning. I think you should go further. I will next time…I hate the crowds. I also think August is a difficult time to see anything without tourists…It’s the time of year to take a vacation from the vacation!
