Martin Heck from Timestorms Films spent four months filming the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand (from Tongariro National Park, Taranaki NP, Lake Tekapo, Canterbury High Country, Lake Wakatipu to Skipper Canyon) to create these gripping timelapse videos of absolutely superb quality! While doing so, he drove through amazing scenery, slept in caves under a sky of glow-worms, hiked through the bush and explored hidden canyons…

I’ve always wanted to visit Yosemite National Park but unfortunately I never got to it (even when I lived in California for over a year). I know it’s a shame but thanks to Shawn Reeder, I can at least see what Yosemite must be like…

Yosemite National Park, the High Sierra, and the Eastern Sierra are some of the most beautiful places on earth. Ever since Shawn Reeder serendipitously won a trip to Yosemite when he was 18, the beautiful Range of Light has captured his heart and become his home.

I totally fell in love with this video by Matthew Vandeputte. Not only did I find it at the right time (it started snowing in Vienna for the first time this season) but I also just decided to spend a weekend skiing in the Alps in Febuary. So this video really made my day :)

The Other Side Of Afghanistan.

My father travelled to Afghanistan in the 70s. He told me, that it was one of the most beautiful, interesting, inspiring & diverse countries he has ever been to. Today, we know Afghanistan because of it’s pictures of foreign forces, explosions and terror.

This video by Lukas Augustin shows Afghanistan from a different side. He (and his fiance) travelled from Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif to capture the daily life of the people of the country that connects the Middle East and Central Asia. And well … they did a fantastic job!

Ok, so here’s a different kind of time lapse video: From earth. View our planet from above. I (and pretty much everyone else lol) found this last weekend but I wanted to wait for #VideoFriday to post it here.

You’ll get to see the time lapse sequences of photographs taken by the crew of the ISS expeditions 28 & 29. The editing of the video was done by Michael König and the material itself is … well, until one of us makes it into space, NASA will do the job :)

The Trees Are Talking.

Autumn in Austria, especially in the Vienna Woods, can be a vivid and colourful experience. This weekend we were strolling around in the woods near Vienna and were overwhelmed by the colourful beauty of nature.

Most clips are filmed hand-held – next time we’ll definitely use a tripod. We didn’t use any filter or colour correction, this video is pure nature ;) Hopefully you’ll enjoy it. It was heaps of fun filming & editing and for our first try (so don’t laugh) it didn’t turn out too bad…

In April 2011 Terje Sørgjerd (also known as TSO Photography) hiked up the highest mountain in Spain, “El Teide” (3718m). It’s one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of the Teide Observatory, considered to be one of the world’s best observatories.

His goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy and the surrounding of the mountain; and he managed to do a great job! Check out this video:
